Clear view fencing
Panels, mesh, heights, posts and gates in plain words, and what goes into an installation.

Clear view fencing and electric fencing for houses, estates, smallholdings and yards in Johannesburg and Pretoria. Tell us about your boundary and we'll call you back to confirm the price and a time.
Free to request. No obligation to go ahead.
Clear view fencing is welded steel mesh panels fixed to posts, so you can see through your boundary, and tighter mesh openings leave fewer handholds and less room for tools. The price depends on length, height, gates and terrain. Request a quote for Johannesburg or Pretoria and we will call you back with the next step.
Most boundary jobs fit one of these. If yours does not, describe the job in the quote request and we will take it from there.
Panels, mesh, heights, posts and gates in plain words, and what goes into an installation.
What moves the price, published per-metre ranges with their sources, and how to compare two quotes side by side.
Two common boundary fences compared on visibility, climbing, upkeep and look, with no winner declared.
A new electric fence needs a certificate from a registered installer. Here is what that means and what to ask.
A fence that has gone quiet or is clicking but weak. Common causes, what to leave to the installer, and when work needs a new certificate.
Cost per metre, what 10 metres and 100 metres can come to, estate rules, gates and electric fence certificates.
These are the situations people describe most when they ask about a new boundary. Each can have more than one answer, so tell us what you are dealing with.
A solid wall hides whoever is outside, and it hides your property from the street too. Mesh panels let you see out. That cuts both ways, so some owners add screening or planting on one side. Screening catches the wind, so it needs a design check, and planting must stay well clear of any electric wires.
Light wire, thin rails and rusted joints give way quickly. Mesh panels come in tighter and heavier grades, and an anti-climb grade is a mesh with small openings.
When a run of old fencing needs patching every season, replacing it can work out simpler than another repair. A quote should show posts and footings, not only panels.
New panels beside a sagging old gate leave the weak spot where it was. Gates are quoted separately from the per-metre price, so ask for both.
A low per-metre figure can leave out the gate, the posts in rock, the coating or the electric wiring. Before you compare two quotes, check that each lists the same height, the same mesh grade and the same extras. The cost guide has the checklist.

We take clear view fencing requests from two areas. Each has its own page, because the jobs are different.
Estate and complex boundaries, body corporate and HOA rules, and commercial yards, from Sandton and Fourways to Randburg and Roodepoort.
Large plots and smallholdings, long boundary runs, Pretoria East and Centurion.
Just outside these areas? Send the request anyway and give your suburb.
It is a boundary fence made of welded steel mesh panels fixed to posts. Tighter grades have smaller openings, which leave less to grip and less room for tools, and you can see through it.
It depends on height, mesh grade, coating, gates and the ground. Published installed ranges for Gauteng are on our cost page, each with its source and date. The only price that counts is the one for your boundary.
Yes. An electric fence can be added on top of a clear view fence or installed on its own. A new electric fence needs a certificate from a registered Electric Fence System Installer, and so can one that is extended or altered. Minor repairs may not. The installation page explains.
It depends on the estate, because each estate or body corporate decides what may go on its boundary. Check yours first and tell us when you request a quote. The Johannesburg page covers what to ask your trustees or managing agent.
