Clear View Fencing in Pretoria

Johannesburg · Pretoria. Free, no-obligation request: we’ll call you back to confirm the price and a time.

The short answer

Large plots and smallholdings in Pretoria East and Centurion mean long boundaries, often over slopes, rock and gravel access. On those jobs length is the biggest number on the quote. Send your suburb and a rough measurement, and we will phone to plan the run with you.

Plots and smallholdings

Big plots mean long runs

On a standard suburban stand you are fencing the front and a couple of sides. On a smallholding, the full perimeter can be a very different job. Three things change:

  • Length sets the price. One Gauteng price guide assumes straight runs of 50 metres or more, so a long, straight boundary suits its rates better than a short, winding one.
  • The ground varies. Slopes, a dry stream line or rock can sit along one stretch and not another. Price guides list rock excavation and site-specific work outside their per-metre figures.
  • Access is a job in itself. Gravel tracks can soften after a summer storm, and a long driveway affects how material gets to the far corner.

Tshwane's 2026 ward lists name many of the smallholding pockets around the city. In Pretoria North they include Wildebeesthoek, Heatherdale AH, Winternest AH and Fundus AH. If your property is one of these or similar, you probably need the full-perimeter conversation below.

Garsfontein, Lynnwood, Equestria and beyond

Pretoria East

East of the city the mix is wide. The ward lists put Garsfontein, Faerie Glen, Lynnwood, Menlyn and Moreleta Park alongside Equestria, Wapadrand and Mooikloof, and name a few estates written as such, including Silver Lakes Golf Estate and Woodlands Lifestyle Estate.

  • Estate properties. Ask whoever manages your estate, if anyone does, for the rules on boundary changes before we measure.
  • Larger plots in Equestria, Wapadrand and Mooikloof. Expect longer runs, and ask us about gates sized for vehicles.
  • Garsfontein, Lynnwood and Menlyn. On a closer-in stand you may only be fencing one or two sides plus a gate.
Monavoni, Eldoraigne and Irene

Centurion and Irene

Centurion has a clear split between established suburbs and the smallholding belt. Eldoraigne, Wierda Park, Rooihuiskraal and Irene sit on one side. On the other side, the ward lists name the Deltoidia smallholdings, Knoppieslaagte AH, Gerardsville AH, Monrick AH and the farms and smallholdings around Monavoni.

Irene Security Estate and Centurion Golf Estate also appear in the ward lists. A name alone does not tell you whether a managing body sets rules, so ask each one.

Before the call

What to tell us about a long run

  • The rough perimeter in metres, or a sketch of the stand with the sides you want fenced.
  • Where the gates go and what drives through them.
  • Whether the ground is flat, sloping, rocky or boggy in places.
  • How a truck gets to the far end, and whether the track is gravel.
  • Whether you want electric fencing on part or all of the run.
City of Tshwane

Height and approvals in Tshwane

Fences up to 1.8 metres that stand alone can qualify as minor building work, yet only the City of Tshwane can confirm whether it will authorise yours on that basis and which documents it wants. Get its written requirements before ordering, and put anything taller to building control first. We have not found a Tshwane height rule we can quote, so 1.8 metres is not the final word for your stand.

What guides say

Published price context for Pretoria

One guide lists R1,100 to R1,400 a metre installed for Pretoria, VAT not stated. On a long run, small differences in the per-metre figure add up fast, so compare quotes on the same basis. The cost guide lists three sources and the checklist.

Questions people ask

Can you fence a whole smallholding?

Yes, send the suburb and a rough perimeter. Length, gates and ground decide the price, and we go through each on the phone.

Does Pretoria East cost more than Centurion?

We have no published figure that splits the two. One price guide gives a single Pretoria range, and your own quote depends on the job.

Do estates in Pretoria allow clear view fencing?

It depends on the property. Ask whoever manages it, if anyone does, for the rules on boundary changes, and mention it in your request.
